Dr. Alan Smith has been in clinical practice for over thirty years and has been involved with educating family physicians for over twenty years.  In 2009, he was awarded the Sidney Zeitler Award for excellence in teaching primary care physicians.  He currently is on the faculty of the Greater Lawrence Family Medicine Residency Program, holds the position of clinical instructor at Tufts University School of Medicine and maintains a private practice in Burlington and Malden. Dr. Smith has further developed his skills as a clinician to include hypnosis, stress management with a focus on behavioral health, as well as family therapy.  His clinical practice is quite broad in scope and includes individuals, both adults and adolescents; couples and families; and organizational consulting.  Dr. Smith received his Doctor of Science (Sc.D.) in 1977 from Boston University.
